Corryn Brock is a journalist with a passion for local journalism.
Hello! My name is Corryn Brock and I am a recent graduate of Eastern Illinois University. During my time at Eastern, I majored in journalism with an emphasis on public affairs reporting, minored in political science and took several courses in photojournalism while serving as an editor for our award-winning newspaper, The Daily Eastern News, for four years. Halfway through my term as Editor-in-Chief, I transitioned the paper from a daily print product to a weekly print product with a strong emphasis on online content. Though it broke my heart watching our on-site press run for the last time, I believe that experience made me push myself as a journalist and as an editor more than I ever had before and I am better for it. I currently work remotely as a general assignment reporter for a local paper in Central Illinois where I have gained experience in reporting on courts, breaking news, local government and higher education. Starting off in person, I was able to build relationships with those I worked with that allowed for a seamless transition for me to relocate to Fort Wayne, Indiana and work remotely.
